Indonesian Chemical Engineering Higher Education Association (APTEKIM)

JAKARTA – The Indonesian chemical engineering community celebrates a major milestone as Dr. Ir. Sripeni Inten Cahyani, M.M., IPM., ASEAN Eng., has been officially inaugurated as a member of the National Energy Council (DEN) for the 2026-2030 term. Dr. Sripeni currently serves as the Head of the Chemical Engineering Vocational Body of the Institution of Engineers Indonesia (BKKPII).

Strategic Leadership and Expertise

Dr. Sripeni brings a wealth of executive experience to the council. Her distinguished career in the power industry is marked by several top-tier leadership roles, including serving as the President Director of PT Indonesia Power, Director of Strategic Procurement 1 at PT PLN, and the President Director of PT PLN (Persero).

Her profound impact on the sector led to her appointment as an Expert Staff to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) for Electricity in 2020. Furthermore, she serves as the President Commissioner of PT Pupuk Kujang, where she advocates for low-carbon solutions and industrial efficiency.

Educational Background A graduate of Chemical Engineering from Diponegoro University (1992), Dr. Sripeni has continuously expanded her expertise. She holds a Master’s degree in Financial Management from STM PPM Jakarta (2001) and a Doctorate in Business Economics from Universitas Trisakti (2019).

In her capacity as the Head of BKKPII, she has been a driving force for professional engineering standards in Indonesia. Her appointment to the National Energy Council is expected to strengthen the bridge between technical chemical engineering innovation and national energy policy.

Jakarta, December 27, 2024 – On December 27, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) and the Indonesian Association of Chemical Engineering Higher Education (APTEKIM). This cooperation involves educational programs and environmental care activities aimed at improving the quality of education and environmental awareness in Indonesia.

The event was attended by the Chairman of APTEKIM, Hari Devianto, along with leaders from both organizations. This Memorandum of Understanding is expected to pave the way for further collaboration in various strategic initiatives in the future.

Bali, November 15, 2024 – Following the successful conclusion of the 2024 National Congress (Musyawarah Nasional, Munas), the Indonesian Association of Chemical Engineering Education (Asosiasi Pendidikan Tinggi Teknik Kimia, APTEKIM) officially announced its newly elected leadership team for the 2024-2027 term.

Hary Devianto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., was elected as Chairperson, succeeding Ir. Idral Amri, ST., MT., Ph.D., whose leadership has significantly contributed to APTEKIM’s progress. The newly appointed leadership team is as follows:

Bali, November 15, 2024 – The 2024 National Congress (Musyawarah Nasional, Munas) of the Indonesian Association of Chemical Engineering Education (Asosiasi Pendidikan Tinggi Teknik Kimia, APTEKIM) concluded successfully in Bali, bringing together active participation from representatives of 24 higher education institutions offering chemical engineering programs across Indonesia.

The event marked a pivotal moment in shaping the organization’s strategic direction and policies, as well as the transition of leadership. During the forum, Hary Devianto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., was officially elected as the new Chairperson of APTEKIM, succeeding Ir. Idral Amri, ST., MT., Ph.D., who led the organization with dedication and commitment.

In his farewell address, Ir. Idral Amri expressed his gratitude for the collaboration fostered during his tenure and conveyed his hope for a more progressive APTEKIM under the new leadership. “APTEKIM has been a vital platform for advancing chemical engineering education in Indonesia. I believe that under the new leadership, we will continue to grow stronger and become globally competitive,” he stated.

Hary Devianto, the newly elected Chairperson, outlined his vision for the organization, emphasizing the importance of enhancing synergy among APTEKIM members, aligning curricula with industry demands, and promoting strategic collaborations at both national and international levels.

This successful congress reaffirmed APTEKIM’s commitment to advancing chemical engineering education and its role in driving innovation and excellence within the field.
