Advancing chemical engineering education in Indonesia

Our History

The Asosiasi Pendidikan Teknik Kimia Indonesia (APTEKIM) is a professional organization dedicated to advancing higher education in chemical engineering within Indonesia. APTEKIM is open to all institutions of higher education in Indonesia that offer chemical engineering programs or are closely related to the field.

Origins

The association traces its origins to the Badan Kerjasama Lembaga Pendidikan Tinggi Teknik Kimia Indonesia (BKS-LPTTKI), established during the National Congress on Chemical Engineering Higher Education held at the Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University, Semarang, on September 4-5, 1979.

Transformation

The transformation of BKS-LPTTKI into the Asosiasi Pendidikan Tinggi Teknik Kimia Indonesia (APTEKINDO) was formalized during the 11th National Congress of BKS-LPTKI in Yogyakarta on September 17, 2003. Subsequently, based on the decision of the APTEKINDO Member Representative Assembly (MPA) meeting held on November 16, 2017, in Semarang, the organization reverted to its original name, APTEKIM.
